Best Practices for Trash and Recycling in Ann Arbor

All trash, cardboard, and recycling must be appropriately placed in the relevant bins. The City will not pick up any trash left outside of the bins, and the lids must be able to close. If anything is left outside of the bins, the City may fine the property if left on the curb for over 24-hours. Similarly, the City will not pick up large furniture items left on the curb and may ticket the property. Please find our guide on Dumping Unwanted Items for your reference. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a clean and pleasant environment!
