Enrolling in Rent Reporting

An overview of the resident center rent reporting feature and how to enroll.

Overview

What is Rent Reporting, powered by Buildium?

It’s an optional, fee-based service that residents can easily sign up for and pay for through the Buildium Resident Center. Each month, Rent Reporting will automatically report the resident's rent payment activity to the three major credit bureaus (Equifax®, Experian®, and TransUnion®3) to create a record of credit history.

Why enroll in Rent Reporting?

Consumers recognize that good credit scores impact their ability to rent without a cosigner, to get good interest rates on car loans and other revolving credit, and have a significant impact on any future plans to qualify for a mortgage. The feature is an easy way to get rewarded for paying your rent on time!

Which credit bureaus does Buildium report rent payment history to?

Buildium reports rent payment history to all three major credit bureaus: Equifax®, Experian®, and TransUnion®. The specific bureaus to which Buildium reports are subject to change without prior notice, but resident’s monthly rent payments will be reported to at least one of the three major bureaus during your subscription to Buildium Rent Reporting.

Can more than one resident per unit report their lease payment?

Yes. Each individual on the lease can choose to have their rent payment history reported. An individual subscription for Rent Reporting, powered by Buildium is needed for each resident who chooses to report their rent.
